Recruiting Process

If you consider to apply but are not sure what to expect we will transparently share the process with you below.

1. Send your Application

The first step is on you only - it starts with you sending your application. We appreciate applications with a motivational letter. This way we can understand why you apply to Refine Studio, where you come from and what you aspire to achieve in the future. We also highly appreciate if you send us some kind of portfolio and, or links to your social media. Github is the most important for Developers, Dribbble or Behance the most important for Designers.

2. Personal Interview

After we checked your application we might invite you to the personal interview. This one is a conversation on an equal footing. We are particularly interested in you as a person and explore your career so far, why you are looking for change and start a career at Refine. But also what your hobbies are and what you think about the technologies you have been in touch with. We really hope you also have a bunch of question about Refine Studio.

3. Live Working Session

The third step in the process is working together for 1 - 1.5 hours. You have multiple options here which you can choose in advance.

  1. You get a task
First option is that we simply give you a couple of tasks while the live share session and you solve them.
  2. You choose the task
Our preferred option tho is that you choose the project and task yourself in advance.
It can be any private or open source project and you simply fix a bug or implement a new feature.

Independently from the option you choose, you can actually work how you usually work - on your machine, within your IDE following your preferences. What we are trying to figure out in this session is whether you can solve the problems, or at least attempt to and at the same time have a conversation about it and verbalise your thought process. You can use any tool you want like Google, Stack Overflow or even ChatGPT.

Niklas Kiefer

Senior Frontend Developer

Ever since my career started here I have never experienced that dreaded feeling of "Ugh... work sucks". This is achieved thanks to a great culture and a fun work environment, whether it's in our relationships with customers (now partners) or in our communication with colleagues. The atmosphere is always respectful, humorous, and free of hierarchical barriers. I also enjoy the great work-life balance, thanks to the many opportunities for flexible working-hours and vacation planning.

Senior Backend Developer

I feel privileged to work the way I do at Refine: The given flexibility concerning "time and space" let's me manage my work hours when and from where I want - apart from some basic rules of course. Concerning our open company culture and communication within the team: it's lovely, we're in this together, motivated for the best outcome!
